Legends of Runeterra: Understanding Leveling Up and Daybreak

In Legends of Runeterra, champions level up when their unique level-up condition is met. For instance, Ahri levels up when you, the player, have recalled six or more units this game. This means that the level-up condition doesn't depend on an instance of a champion, but rather on your overall performance during the match.

Another important concept in Legends of Runeterra is Daybreak. When you have ten max mana gems, you can activate the Daybreak effect. This effect is not limited to your side of the board; it also applies to your opponent's side, even if it's nighttime on their board.

There are special cards that interact with Daybreak, such as Rahvun, Daylight's Spear. When this card is on the board, it creates perpetual day for all allies, allowing them to benefit from the Daybreak bonus.

The Daybreak effect can be triggered when you play a Daybreak card in your hand, and you'll see a sun icon atop those cards indicating that the effect is available. If it's the first card you play in a round, the effect will trigger, and then the card will self-destruct. The countdown reaches zero before triggering the effect.

Units with Attune refill one spell mana when they are summoned. When a unit strikes during an attack, it can also trigger an additional effect. Cards that command units to strike each other do not count as attacks, but attacking with tokens such as the attack token, free attack, Scout, and Rally all qualify.

Attachments can be played like normal units and can be attached to allies or placed on the board. If a unit already has an attachment or equipment, attaching another one will return the previous attachment or equipment to your hand, removing any associated stats or keywords.
